Pilates for improved performance and recovery from injury
Welcome! I'm a fully certified STOTT PILATES Instructor Trainer. I deliver one-to-one and group training to clients across London. I also teach on many STOTT PILATES instructor training courses as a course tutor in London and other areas within the UK.Having worked in the health and fitness industry for over 25 years, I've trained many clients in the gym and pilates studio, from total beginners right through to those working towards becoming an instructor or even a personal trainer!
As a keen runner, I understand the importance of keeping myself fit and healthy; in my everyday work I deal with individuals successful in sport as well as exercise enthusiasts who use pilates to not just fight back from injury but also to improve their overall performance.
Both pilates mat and equipment-based exercise is of great benefit in achieving a pain free lifestyle. I work with people to alleviate pain or discomfort: whether it is back, knee or shoulder pain. I also provide advice on your general posture and, if appropriate, advice on setting up workstations to reduce the likelihood of future pain and discomfort.
To ensure I keep up to date with this fast-paced industry, I achieved my Master’s Degree in Exercise Science in 2000, and am now currently working towards a BSc in Osteopathy to provide a broader knowledge of treatment prior to rehabilitation.
Working closely with other health professionals will ensure my clients in avoiding future joint pain or discomfort. As well as teaching pilates, I am also able to offer specialist services in curriculum development as a researcher and writer. I have many years’ experience in curriculum delivery and development and can provide initial course design as well as any course materials required. With my expertise in this field, I will work with you to develop a bespoke product that is suitable for your requirements, whether it is for staff training or to be endorsed by Skills Active and REPS (Register of Exercise Professionals) in order to gain national recognition within the health and fitness industry.
I can also offer physical therapy services, such as postural assessment, soft tissue manipulation and articulation. I have a Diploma in Soft Tissue Manipulation with insurance via the College of Osteopaths.

Pilates for a pain free lifestyle
Mat and equipment-based pilates helps bring about a pain-free lifestyle by focusing on strengthening the deep supporting muscles and increasing flexibility in the larger superficial muscles. Such training allows everyday tasks to be performed with greater ease.
During our sessions, I will focus on strength and flexibility throughout the body as a whole. I will also concentrate on any areas of pain or weakness. This will work towards improving body shape, tone and posture. It will also help with any general day to day activities such as sitting at workstations at home or in the office; carrying shopping or children as well as the day to day stresses and strains we place on our bodies. Pilates will help reduce the risk of future pain or discomfort.

Pilates is a muscle strengthening and flexibility programme for all levels of fitness. It can be a great workout for the enthusiast or can aid in recovery from surgery or injury. Pilates is also perfect for pre- and post-natal women or anyone else who'd like to participate in a low impact form of activity.
Regular practice can reduce the risk of joint pain, headaches, tension around the neck and shoulders - or just help you feel better!
